Loved the column, particularly the Stephanie Tanner reference. Mmm, Carmel Delites.
That's interesting to note, since most people I know from Chicago--previously old-fashioned warm-blooded people who could handle a good midwestern storm--have moved to warmer climates and have lost all sense of stubbornness.
Apparently there is an expired warrranty on weather resilience, and after two years in Miami or Los Angeles, even a expat Chicagoan can freak when the thermometer hits 45.
